WILDLIFE BIOLOGY – A non-profit society owned open-access journal promoting a scientific basis for the conservation and management of wildlife and of human-wildlife relationships.WILDLIFE BIOLOGY adopts a broad concept of wildlife management, including all policies and actions with the purpose of conservation, sustainable use, or control of wildlife and its habitats, in order to safeguard sustainable relationships between wildlife and other human interests. We have a broad concept of 'wildlife' and studies of mammals, birds and other taxa or phenomena relevant to wildlife issues are all of great interest. WILDLIFE BIOLOGY is a high-quality scientific forum directing concise and up-to-date knowledge to scientists, administrators, wildlife managers and conservationists.The journal encourages and welcomes original papers and short communications written in English from throughout the world. The journal accepts theoretical, empirical, and practical manuscripts of high standard from all areas of wildlife science, including human dimensions of wildlife, with the primary task of creating the scientific basis for the enhancement of wildlife management and conservation practices.All papers are reviewed by at least two referees with recognised competence within their field of research and by a Subject Editor appointed by the Editor-in-Chief. WILDLIFE BIOLOGY (Wildl. Biol., ISSN 0909-6396) was started in 1994 and is owned by the Nordic Council for Wildlife Research (NKV) and is since 2005 supported by Office National de la Chasse et de la Faune Sauvage in France.
